I built Interactive Digital Narratives for a film and media studies course on videogames. We were required to play three games over the course of the semester: a console game, a casual game, and a game we hadn’t played before. For each game we then wrote three blog posts: one which gave initial impressions, one which addressed a reading from class, and one which found a relevant reading not addressed in class. I examined Dragon Age: Origins, Mystic Messenger, and Bioshock. I also created a meta-game, The Life of a Game Journalist, which looked at and criticized the language used during GamerGate, specifically the use of death threats and doxing.
